Application Security for the Android Platform

This book does a fair job of giving an overview of Android's design mechanisms for securing applications, but doesn't really offer much detail. The writing is clear and is aimed at developers that have little to no security knowledge.

Now for a review from someone who is not apparently a colleague or sibling of the author (one is from Baltimore, where the author works, and the other has the same surname, which ain't exactly "Smith" or "Jones").Anyway, if the rating system were more granular, I would give this book 3.

This book provides a clear explanation of application security and secure development practices for any developers working on the Android platform. The first chapter explains the basics of application security and how it is really risk management.
